KPCU Song Lab Single Class Drop-In: May 21, 2026
with Drea Castillo
$3864
Thursday, May 21 from 7:00–8:00pm (single class drop in).
The KPCU Song Lab is a guided, collaborative workshop led by local musician Drea Marilyn that’s designed for songwriters and musicians to bring their works-in-progress into a live, communal environment. Part feedback session, part low-stakes acoustic jam, the Song Lab is where your songs find their missing pieces. Need a fresh set of ears on a bridge? Or perhaps you’ve always wondered what your piano ballad would sound like with a lead guitarist. The Song Lab is your space to experiment, iterate, and play.
How the "Lab" Works:
1. The Pitch: As a songwriter, you will present your song-in-progress, then explain what you have so far and what specific kind of feedback you're looking for (e.g., "I have a verse and chorus, but I’m stuck on the transition").
2. Feedback: The group offers constructive, guided feedback on the writing itself.
3. Optional Jam: You, the songwriter, may invite the other musicians in the room to jump in for a quick jam with guided support from the instructor.
4. The Goal: "Let's hear this with a bass line," or "Can someone try a harmony on this line?"
5. The Result: You get a real-time "demo" of your song’s potential and an experience in collaboration.
